Our goal is to not just decrease our impact on the planet, but to facilitate the ability for others to take advantage of environmentally friendly schemes.
One example is our partnership with Shropshire Cycle Hub who provide for and maintain E-Cargo bikes with funding from ourselves.
With our grant of £13,000, Shropshire Cycle Hub were able to procure two new bikes with some of that money also going into maintenance. E – cargo bikes are an economically and sustainable way of doing the weekly shopping, making deliveries, or anything relating to the need to transport small cargo.
The best part of this service is that it is open to everyone. These vehicles have a 250W electric motor powered from rechargeable batteries to help with heavy loads and hills.
We hope that these two bikes will be another step in helping Shrewsbury show itself as a climate friendly destination and help encourage the shift towards active travel by reducing reliance on motor vehicles.
